
Caio Kondo
Caio Kondo is a type designer and the founder of Inari Type, an independent type foundry established in 2020 and based in São Paulo, Brazil. Trained in Graphic Design, Caio is Nikkei, of Japanese descent, and his work reflects this cultural heritage. He focuses on developing Latin typefaces as well as Japanese Kana, exploring the connection between the two writing systems and creating type families that draw on his roots and personal experiences. His passion for Japanese typography directly shapes the style and sensibility of his projects. His work has been recognized in major awards including TiposLatinos, Oro at the Latin Design Awards, and the Silver Cube at the ADC Awards. Outside of typography, Caio enjoys hobbies that inspire his creativity, including woodworking, aquascaping, and spending time with his cats.
