Laurene Girbal

Laurène Girbal is a French type and graphic designer with a soft spot for scripts, logotypes and lettering.
After two years working in the digital graphic design area, she started as a freelancer for renowned type foundries and soon after closely collaborated with Colophon Foundry for a few years. Then in 2024, Laurène joined Monotype.
Over the last years, she has drawn and developed custom typefaces and logotypes for numerous companies from independent clients to global brands. She self-initiated a lively script project and released her very own typeface Avril at Blaze Type in 2023. As a true letters enthusiast, she enjoys pushing herself with unusual briefs and large character sets.
